Many Foothills residents may be feeling a little sore today after the Millarville Run to the Farmers' Market Half Marathon yesterday, June 17.

Runners had the option of a 21.1 km marathon, a two person half marathon relay, or the gastronimcally intriguing COBS Cinnamon Bun Run.

The run kicks off the start of the Millarville Farmer's Market this season, Laura Ball, Bun Run participant says the day is all about coming together as a community.

"Our teachers from our school are running in it, the people at the water stations are parents and friends, they're there along the way. It's a community event where you're running, and have the encouragement of your community, you don't really get that when you run the huge ones in the city."

Ball shares she's participated in the run for three years now, she says it unites the region.

"It brings people together, those running, those volunteering, and those meeting at the market to see you cross the finish line, it brings people together from all aspects."

The Millarville Farmers Market will run until October 7.
