Did you bag a big score this year while hunting? The Okotoks & District Fish & Game Society can be the judge of that.

The Association will be hosting an official game scoring night on February 17 and it's open to all hunters.

Vice-President & Acting President of the ODFGA Mark Anderson says the scoring is as authentic as you can get.

"We're going to have an official Alberta Fish & Game scorer there, so you can bring in your big game whether it's deer, elk, moose, bears or whatever you've got and you'll get an official score."

Anderson adds that the official scorer is an expert in scoring all kinds of game and it's not just about rack points.

"If you say bring in a white tail deer, they're going to measure the total length and then the whole idea is symmetry, you want the left side to match the right side. If there's any unevenness that actually subtracts from the points. So you want it really big but you also want it to be nice and symmetrical."

The scoring night is at the Crystal Shores Beach House starting 6 p.m. and going until 8 p.m. There will be light refreshments at the event.
