MCG Careers is celebrating its 13th year serving job seekers and employers in the local area.

Project Manager Sue Jordan says they won't be able to celebrate the occasion the way they'd like to or the way they have in the past, with a open house.

"We kind of celebrate with our staff and we're able to talk about our successes and our history with the community so it's more kind of an internal thing," she says. "In past we've had open houses to launch a little celebration around the success of ongoing services and supports to the community."

Jordan says they always try to recognize the work the team and the management, owners and leaders of the company have put forth.

She came to MCG Careers in October 2017 starting as a Careers Coach and then became a Coordinator and now as Project Manager for both Okotoks and High River locations.

She says she's had a real journey offering employment supports in the foothills community.

"I've seen a lot of shifts and changes, we've been challenged with adaptations around COVID and positioning staff to continue to provide services to our citizens, there's been a lot of growth and change," Jordan says. "I saw a change of ownership after my second year of working with MCG and then a change of name. A lot of us would recognize the McBride Career Group, as a starting point for this company and then it was purchased by one of the internal staff who shifted it to MCG Careers."

MCG Careers operates in Okotoks, High River, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Nanton, Claresholm and Vulcan.
