Barn wood door decor has earned a local business the runner-up spot for Avenue Magazine's "Made In Alberta" awards.

Gino de Paoli, Co-Owner of Two Birds Furniture, says the business has grown in many ways over the years.

"It started out a little bit small out of a shop, then moved into Okotoks. It's been pretty rewarding how far we've come with our doors. It's just a great evolution of how the business has grown, and how the people have grown," he said.

Two Birds Furniture joined two additional Alberta companies for Runner-Up in the Furnishings and Home Decor category.

De Paoli adds it's rewarding to be noticed in the community.

"It's really nice to see that people are noticing our product, and we're based here in Okotoks. Ninety percent of our staff have a lot of Okotoks ties," he said.

De Paoli says all the wood procured for their projects is made in Alberta, coming from a variety of different places, like old granaries.
