An Okotoks family has made one of their 13-year-old daughter's dreams become a reality this summer.

Eve-Lynn Rowan, an Okotoks teen, was born with Bronchiectasis; an illness that restricts her physical activity and if not careful can go into respiratory distress quite easily.

Nicole Maloney, Eve-Lynn's adoptive mother, says having a life threatening illness can be hard to manage but they wanted to help her focus on the positives in life by creating a list of dreams.

"Eve-Lynn said to me number one, she wanted to go to Disney World...number two was she wanted a power chair, she calls it her power granny scooter, she wanted one of those so she could go out into the community...number three she asked to go to the ocean more and number four she asked to make memories."

With The Make a Wish Foundation stepping in to grant her wish of visiting Disney World and her grandparents purchasing Eve-Lynn her power chair to make going out more accessible her loved ones wanted to make the ocean and more family memories come true.

Maloney says a summer trip out to the island in British Columbia was an amazing experience for the teen, "we did go to the island... and just experienced the ocean and let her play and let her have time there. It was really beautiful and such a blessing for our family, for her especially."

On the way out to the island a water park caught Eve-Lynn's eye and she expressed interest in going but it was on the way back that her parents decided to take a detour to create more   memories.

The medically fragile teen was a bit hesitant at first but with her mother's motto, "you just never know what you will experience if you don't just try" Rowan was ready to cross 'going down   a water slide' off her dream list.

Maloney says she approached the staff to ask for help and was blown away by their determination to help Eve-Lynn live out one of her dreams, "the medic came out with two other ladies   and they stood there as a team...she said to me, would oxygen help her get up the stairs and I said absolutely. So they kind of just came together, one lady said hey let's drive her to the   slide in the golf court, another girl said let's close down the slide and we will just take our time, let's make this happen for her and before I knew it I was crying in my husband's arms   because here's this beautiful team of women that came together and they just made my daughter, they just saw her as a person and they made her count."

After six flights of stairs, multiple rests as the teens heart rate jumped from 99bpm to 130bpm, big breaths, stabilizing, lots of oxygen and positivity the Okotoks teen, her mother and the   medic reached the top.

According to Maloney, Eve-Lynn's first ever water slide ride was one the teen and the family will never forget, she says, "it was a very emotional experience for my husband and I and for   her...it was so special...pulling together as a family and trying to give her little experiences that are safe for her are huge experiences for her in the long run."

Though maybe typical for other teens, it was a trip that will "forever be in their hearts" thanks to the help from all the wonderful staff at the B.C. water park.

As for what's next when it comes to the list of dreams, another trip to the ocean in the very near future.
