The Little Free Libraries project is looking for book donations in Okotoks.

A year ago the Okotoks Public Library received a grant from Family and Community Support Services to put seven Little Free Libraries in the community and now they're hoping to keep them all stocked with fresh reads.

Lara Grunow, assistant librarian at the Okotoks Public Library, says making a donation is simple.

"We would just like to see if people have some new or new-ish books at home, children's and juvenile material is what we're really looking for," she explains. "If they would like to bring it in to the library and then we will take care of distributing it across all of our Little Free Libraries in the community."

Little Free Libraries can be found at the Okotoks Recreation Centre, Okotoks Food Bank, and the Cimarron, Drake Landing, Westmount, Sandstone, and Suntree community parks.

Grunow says the Little Free Libraries are meant to be a give and take system.

"We are the stewards of the ones that are in Okotoks so we want to make sure we're always keeping up with what needs to be there. It's fantastic that people are taking stuff but they may not be bringing back as much stuff."
