The Town of High River and the organizers of this year's Little Britches Parade have made a couple of changes to the route for this year.

Parade Co-Chair, Hank Leeferink, says it'll be a familiar route, but backwards.

"We're going to right back from 1st Street West, all the way from Jollee Electronics all the way north past the Southfork Restaurant and then turn onto Macleod Trail and go south from there, going all the way past Spitzee School, We'll turn south again and then go right by the hospital. So, it'll be almost like the original route, except we go the wrong way."

From the Town of High River:

The theme is saluting 75 years of the 187 squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets in High River and celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.

The air cadets will be granted Freedom of the City by Mayor Craig Snodgrass at a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Town Office.

The parade will require road closures and parking restrictions in and around the downtown.

Immediately after the parade the show bands will move to George Lane Park to continue to play in a battle of the bands.

There will also be street buskers set up throughout the downtown for the River of the Music Festival, and the Cultural Taste of High River will get started at noon.

The parade itself starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20.
