Literacy For Life is back in High River.

It had closed up operations earlier this year but it's back with a new board.

New Executive Director, Nicole Levesque says the first program they'll be offering is their GED program.

"That one the start is the week of September 28, so we're offering two GED sessions online and we tried to offer something that would work for everyone's schedule that would be interested so one of them is happening in the mornings and one of them is happening more in the early evening," she says. "It's absolutely something we've had people come in and say 'this has been a tough time, but I'm looking at it as an opportunity to maybe start on a different path and this is where I'd like to start' and sometimes that's where they do start, to get their GED."

Levesque says all of their programs are going online since there are still so many questions about the rules around gathering people together.

She hopes going that route will eliminate barriers that people may have had before with things like transportation or child care.

Among the online programs is Tech Talk.

"There's a Tech Talk Intro, and there's a Teck Talk and also a Tech Talk Cafe, which are basic digital skill classes that we put on. We're offering Tech Talk over the ZOOM platform, so we've got support in place for people who might be a little nervous about that, about just what they'll need to have in place bit I have full confidence that'll it'll go over really well," Levesque says.
