That's international "Lemonade Day" and the Diamond Valley Chamber of Commerce is taking part this year.

Organizer Barry Crane says they've got plenty of kids involved, with proceeds from some of the money raised going to charity.

"We going to have a dozen to as many as 20 lemonade stands from Black Diamond to the tip of Turner Valley. And every kid's stand has a local charity that they're going to donate money to. A lot of them I think are going to go with the Fort McMurray option, in which case we want to see if we can pool that money and then maybe match it with some larger donors in town."

Crane says because the kids have to do it all on their own, from coming up with sponsorship, to paying back loans and giving the money to charity, it's a great way to learn personal and community responsibility.
