The Okotoks Museum and Archives will be holding a hands on learning session revolving around the type of tanks used in World War II.

It's a follow up program they did a few months ago on the learning and then drawing of WWI tanks and will be allowing kids of all ages to draw their tank.

Education Program Specialist for the Museum Jaime-Brett Sine says the tank drawing class is a great way for kids to learn about the history of WWII and the impact tanks have had in world conflicts.

"They're a huge part of our history and a truly fascinating one and so we follow up our discussion on the tanks by actually drawing some, we look at some specific changes in the technology, then the boys and girls choose which tank they'd like to draw," she says.

Sine says when deciding to do another tank drawing class, she couldn't resist.

"It was so much fun the first time I ran this program and in fact I thought I was learning a lot from those that were part of the program because they were so passionate about what they knew, so it just ended up being so much fun I decided I needed to do a second part."

If you'd like to register you child it costs $15 and you can find the registration details here, or you can the Museum as they can take registrations over the phone by calling Jaime-Brett Sine at 403-938-3204.

The drawing and learning begins at 5:30 till 7 p.m. Thursday night at the museum.
