The last hepatitis A immunization clinics for Okotoks residents is open today, Jan. 3.

The clinic will be held at the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Alberta Health Services is holding the clinic after discovering a food handler at the Okotoks Safeway was confirmed to have hepatitis A, and residents who consumed donuts from the bulk bins from Dec. 1 and 21 may have been exposed.

Immunizations will be offered to people who consumed the donuts between Dec. 19 and 21, as immunization is only effective within two weeks of exposure.

Those who consumed the donuts between Dec. 1 and 19 are asked to monitor themselves for possible signs of hepatitis A.

Alberta Health Services asks anyone who believes they may have been exposed to contact Health Link at 811 for assessment of exposure date before going to the clinic.
