The last push to submit applications for the Sheep River Health Trust's Together We Make a Difference Radiothon is this week with the deadline falling on Wednesday.

Last year's event raised almost $40,000 for five different organizations in the Foothills, and is hoping to raise more this year.

Tanya Thorn with the Sheep River Health Trust says any organization that takes aim at youth health and wellness initiatives are welcome to apply for funding.

"Urgent Care is an example, they are looking to make the main entrance way more child-centric, so a play facility," she says. "That kind of stuff, boys and girls clubs, there's lots of different of things."

Thorn says even if organizations aren't sure they qualify for funding, it can't hurt to apply.

"We look for the community to come out and suggest things that they could use some help with. Then we go through the applications and determine what fits our mandate, what we think we can support, and how we can do that. Anything that supports the health and wellness of our youth."

All submissions will be reviewed later this week and the initiatives receiving funding will be announced sometime next week.
