Okotoks town councillors are looking back 2015 with the new year just ahead.

Town councillor Ken Heemeryck says that keeping a the Composite High School in town was a big accomplishment this year.

"There was allot of debate back and forth about moving it out to Alderside and that was something we decided as a community we didn't want to happen." Hermryck says.

Heemeryck says that some funding has been allocated to the school to update it.

While keep the Comp in town was a success for the town through out the year lessons were learned.

Heemeryck says that he has learned allot about compromise in the past year.

"Their are many different stake holders in the region and we get more done when we work together instead of butting heads."

Like his fellow councillors Heemeryck is hoping that a water pipeline will be in store for the town come 2016.

"We are looking forward to finalizing the annexation for the town which is also a giant step."
