Inspired Youth School Projects is a not-for-profit organization working to help students build self confidence.

The organization held a Yoga-a-thon and market Thursday at the Centennial Centre.

The market had vendors from local businesses that were accepting donations for either Inspired Youth School Projects or other charities.

Meagan Fettes with Inspired Youth School Projects says by bringing in local vendors to the event it'll encourage community support.

"I feel that it also creates a bigger support system within the town and helps us understand what Okotoks really is," Fettes says.

All the proceeds from the Yoga-Thon were donated to the not-for-profit group.

Fettes says the program is focused on making youth feel empowered in every aspect of their lives and not just their school careers.

"We're focused on giving the students the tools to build their self confidence, self esteem and self worth, as well as their communication skills, listening skills and relationship building skills."

Fettes says her hope from the program is that it'll grow more community based involvement, while working to diminish bullying from schools.
