The Okotoks Hockeyville committee met for the final time Thursday night.

The committee celebrated the Okotoks Hockeyville campaign run and the success it had in bringing the Okotoks community together.

Co-chair of the event Connie Drake says the group decided a good way to celebrate was to support local sports initiatives.

"We had just under $1,000 to donate, and it was split between KidSport Okotoks and Jumpstart through Canadian Tire."

The committee's second co-chair Deana Halifax says the donations were a no-brainer, supporting and bringing the community together is what the campaign was about.

"The money donated was the left over funds that Hockeyville raised during the campaign."

Halifax says Okotoks may not have came in first place, but the community definitely won.

"We came in third place out of 31,058 communities."

Okotoks won $25,000 towards the twinning of Pason Centennial Arena.
