With only a few weeks left until the first round of Hockeyville voting, the Okotoks Hockeyville Committee is ramping up its efforts to be named into the top ten.

Coordinator for Hockeyville Okotoks Deana Halifax says they've planned a couple events to help gain exposure to the community.

"We have on February 6 the Hot Stove at the George Traditional House, then on the 20th we're going to have a meet and greet at The Canadian Brewhouse. It's a family restaurant so plenty of kids can join us and on the 21st we have our winter carnival," she says.

The Hot Stove is at 4 p.m. with guests Chris Cederstrand, Shannon Kleibrink and Jim 'Bearcat' Murray, all leading up to the Okotoks Oilers home game against the Spruce Grove Saints where it will be 'Pack The Rink' night.

Halifax says if you're looking to help the committee out with any of the events planned or upcoming, you can contact them anytime.

"On our Facebook page we have a link to volunteer spots, and it will list all of our events online so you can actually sign up to whatever event is convenient for you, and it will tell you how many spots have been taken and what's available."

Halifax says to remember to add the hashtag #KHV_PasonCentArena on anything you post.

"If you're on the website and you see any pictures you want to share, when you click the share button put the hashtag in the top and that will give us another vote."

The committee is also planning on using Family Day as a way to maximize their potential at being voted into the next round of Hockeyville voting as they'll be at all local rinks that day.
