High school students who may be curious about what the Alberta Legislature is like now have an opportunity to see it up close.

The Legislative Assembly's contest MLA For A Day gives students an opportunity to participate in an all expenses paid trip to the Legislature to network with MLA's.

Brooke Stuckey, Education Coordinator for the Legislative Assembly's Office, says its a chance for students in Okotoks to speak with local MLA's like Wayne Anderson.

"There's plenty of opportunities" She says. "We plan for them to spend some time at a banquet with their MLA, spend some time one on one in a small group interview, and we try to involve the MLA's as much as we can in the program itself."

Stuckey says the event is a great chance for young people to share their ideas, and see the inner workings of the provincial government.

"Students from all across Alberta come up to the Legislature and they get to meet MLA's, debate in the chamber, meet other assembly staff, and network with other students."

Registration for the contest ends March 18th. Click here to register.
