The High River Fire Department gets the assists for a stolen car collar by the RCMP last week.

Back on Sunday, August 8, police say firefighters called them after spotting a man swapping license plates on a vehicle in a High River car dealership parking lot.

Police showed up and blocked in the man's car, quickly discovering it was stolen.

They also recovered stolen credit cards, license plates, tools and catalytic converters.

Tony Siwalowski of Calgary was charged with possession of stolen property.

Following a bail hearing, Siwalowski was remanded into custody and faces further charges of breach of a court order and mischief.

RCMP say the majority of the stolen property is back in the hands of its rightful owners.

Siwalowski is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court Friday, August 21.
