It's kind of like speed dating with the prospect of a job at the end rather than a marriage.

World of Choices goes Wednesday, March 22 in Okotoks and Timmi Shorr with Junior Achievement Southern Alberta explains it's a great chance for high school students to learn about the work world and get their names out there.

"They get an opportunity to sit down at a round table, about 20 minutes and then we says 'switch' and they get to ask all kinds of questions, 'how much do you get paid, what does a day look like, do you like your job, how did you get there' so it's an opportunity for them to explore a lot of different careers that they haven't though of," she says.

Shorr says the students who'll be taking part get to hear from businesses of all types and varieties. She says a lot of times students come up with an idea of what they want to become when they grow up, their minds can change during the day because they're exposed to so many careers that they've maybe never even heard of.

About 276 students from around the foothills will take part in the event.
