Heaven Can Wait Rescue has recently moved their Centre Street operation to another location, just Southeast of High River at 56249 - 562 Avenue E.

Kim Hessel, founder and president of Heaven Can Wait Rescue says there were a couple reasons for the move.

"I loved the old adoption centre on Centre Street, that was a really good place for us to be after the flood and the five years ensuing. But, as time has gone by it was just one of those decisions that was made to do a little bit of cost saving, and to be able to move the entire operation to one location."

Hessel says the money they're saving from moving is a really big help.

"So we're okay. I'm never going to say we're great because we're never great, we're pretty much hand to foot and foot to mouth each month. But, we do manage to keep going and that's the main thing. We have people that do support us and I think between that and us being smart we should be able to keep going for a good number of years longer."

Hessel added that money was not the only thing being saved by moving to the new location.

"And being able to stay open from eleven until four versus one to four is a huge improvement, it just gives people more time to phone and visit, choose an animal potentially for adoption, talk to us ask questions, whatever."
