Recreation in Okotoks will be going back to its roots this weekend.

An Old-Fashioned Skating Party will be held at the outdoor rink of the Okotoks recreation centre on Sunday, Jan.14.

The free event will feature skating, hot chocolate, snacks, and a fire pit to warm attendees.

No sticks or pucks will be allowed on the ice during the event.

The Old-Fashioned Skating Party runs from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

If the weather turns or is too cold, the event will be held indoors in the Piper Arena.
