The Boys and Girls Club in the Foothills is partnering up with the Town of Black Diamond to host "Harvest Festival" September 25th and 26th.

The two-day event will have those who come down to the Hard Knox Brewery enjoying some outdoor entertainment while remaining socially distant.

Chief Administrative Officer for the Boys and Girls Club Foothills Shirley Puttock says the event is a part of Alberta Culture Days.

"The Harvest Festival is an outdoor event in partnership with the Town of Black Diamond, we received a grant from Alberta Culture to bring people together while socially distancing."

Puttock says they will have entertainment come by on Friday night.

"On Friday night, drummers and dancers from Eden Valley at the Hard Knox Brewery, it'll be a chance for people to get outside and see each other and chat while psychical distancing.

Saturday will focus on local businesses and supporting local artists Puttock says.

"Saturday we'll have vendors in the Town of Black Diamond parking lot, so our wonderful artisans and business people from Black Diamond and Turner Valley and then across the street, we are going to have safe children's games and prizes for the kids.

"September 25th, Friday night 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., No fees at all just come on down and visit with your neighbours and support your local businesses and artisans, they could really use our support right now.

Puttock says while they will be distancing they will also be following other COVID regulations

"We are asking the vendors and everyone that visits to wear a mask, we have hand sanitizer on-site and we are physical distancing with the vendors and at the Hard Knox."

The events go Friday and Saturday the 25th and 26th in Black Diamond.
