The Province is putting up big money to get Albertans back to work.

In total $200-million is being handed out for needed infrastructure projects according to Transportation Minister Ric McIver.

"Of this $200 million,$50 million will go to municipalities through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program which supports upgrades for local bridges, roads and community airports," he says. "And $150 million will go to the Alberta Municipal Water and Wastewater Partnership and First Nations Water Tie-in."

Premier Jason Kenney says a lot of these projects are primarily in rural and smaller communities.

"This doubling of STIP grants will allow rural and small municipalities across the province to maintain and improve local roads and bridges, community airports and other local priorities and it's expected to create nearly 500 jobs," the Premier says.

In total there are 69 new Infrastructure projects and 54 water and wastewater projects that will create about 1,800 jobs.
