Cast and crew for the Goodger Pink Family Theatre want to extend their thanks to their supporters and the Town of Okotoks.

Approximately two weeks ago the theater group was setting up for a Saturday matinee performance of the Princess and the Pea, when they realized they were missing two valuable speakers with show time in an hour.

Samantha Duff, artistic producer and founder of the group, had stored the speakers in a trailer on her personal property in DeWinton the night prior.

She says the trailer was broken into and rifled through at some point in the night.

"It wasn't until then, when we opened up the trailer to start unloading things and setting up that we realized that sometime that night, or early in the morning, that thieves had come to DeWinton and stolen them out of our trailer."

Duff says she feels angry that someone would steal equipment out of a trailer full of children's theater items, children's costumes, and props.

"It's just really frustrating, and you feel a little violated because it happened right out front of your home."

The theater notified the public after the performance, and that's when they saw the bright side of the dark situation.

"The support that we got from the community really meant a lot. It was cool to see all of the people that came right out of the wood work to offer up any help or options for us to use or borrow their equipment. It really meant a lot to see the community work together and that was the silver lining."

Goodger Pink Family theater group have replaced the stolen items, and are operating as usual now.

They thanks the community for their continued support.
