A staple of the local Christmas season is the annual Okotoks Acoustic Christmas Food Bank Benefit Concert.

Musicians of all genres will again be on hand to celebrate the season and help fill the shelves of the local food bank.

One of the organizers, John Fraser, says previous concerts have allowed the food bank to move into a bigger building.

"They can be much more efficient with their time," he says. "I understand the usage in Okotoks is up 47 per cent, the strain on the food banks this year is quite clear and quite obvious and so that's why we're hoping that we get real good support."

Fraser says the concerts feature different musicians and singers each night.

The concerts go Tues December 15 and Wed. December 16 at the Foothills Centennial Centre.

Tickets are $20 each for adults $10 for kids under 12, and they ask for the donation of a non-perishable food item as well.

Tickets are available at Okotoks Ford Lincoln, Safeway, Okotoks Sobeys, Royal Lepage and through eventbright.com and type in Okotoks Acoustic Christmas.
