Okotoks residents can vote on community gingerbread house creations this holiday season at the Okotoks Art Gallery.

Carla Trigiani, Communications Specialist with the Town of Okotoks, says the Gingerbread Station offers an opportunity for residents to get creative, and they've included town staff in the initiative.

"We wanted to make it a competition, so we had a section for kids and for adults. Unfortunately, I think it was just a lot of things back to back, so we were only able to get six submissions from the community," she said.

Trigiani says town employees also got involved with the festivities for the Gingerbread Station project.

"We had the town employees also do one. We are not able to win any prizes, but the six folks that did participate from the public will win a prize," she said.

Gingerbread house creations were collected prior to the Light Up Okotoks event.

The gingerbread creations are on display in the Okotoks Art Gallery until the 22nd of December, and the voting process ends on December 8th.

To cast your vote, visit the display at the Okotoks Art Gallery, where slips are available to vote for the individually named creations.
