Four days of hardcore gaming await participants in the 14th Annual Vulc"LAN" Video Game Championships.

The event is the brainchild of Ben Heide, who owns BCC Hardware in Brandt.

He says officially the event is 14 years old, but unofficially they've been at it a lot longer.

"We've been doing this actually since about 1998. We've been playing around, kind of when this technology first came out to network computers and gamers. It grows a little bit every year. We've got great sponsors and support from different businesses in the community to keep it going."

Heide says there will be a mix of PC and Xbox games being played through the four day tournament starting Thu. Feb. 25.

It's at the Lodge Hall in Vulcan and Heide says there's always room for a few more.
