The theme of Wednesday's Mac n' Cheese luncheon was full stomachs, hearts, and freezers for the Okotoks Food Bank.

This was the fifth year for the event put on by the Okotoks Rotary Club that raises funds to purchase meat for the food bank.

Sandi Kennedy, Rotarian, says money raised from the luncheon stays in the community from start to finish.

"We buy the meat locally and we buy it at different stores each time, so we purchase it with the funds from this luncheon."

Kennedy adds the group values helping local organizations.

"We always do service above self and the Okotoks Rotary Club just likes to help the food bank. It's such a good cause."

No final numbers are in from the event yet but Kennedy predicts it to be similar to last year's $8,500.
