One local family is on a search for one of their own.

Former Okotoks resident Macin Smith, 17 was on his way to school in St. George Utah on September 1st and hasn't been seen since.

Family members have been worried for his safety and are asking the public for their help.

Macin's uncle Keith Bratt says he left his home with none of his belongings making the search a lot tougher.

"Left his house with a binder, no wallet, no keys, no money, no anything and hasn't been heard or seen since," he says. "Our family is greatly concerned."

Macin's family has set-up a facebook page in hopes to track down him.

Bratt says some residents in Okotoks might be able to identify him if he's been up this way since his disappearance.

"He's a big kid, he's only 17 years old but he's 6'4 and 200 pounds," he says. "He (Macin) wasn't somebody that was out and about lots he worked at Walmart in Okotoks when he lived here, so people might recognize him if they go onto the facebook page."

Bratt is just hoping that the family will soon so the stress of having a lost family member is behind them.

"It's been ten days now of no word or no sighting of him, if people do go on to the website there on facebook, they'll see the information of contact for the police in St. George and my sister's phone number as well," he says. "Our family needs to bring closure to this situation it's been a living hell for our family the last ten days."
