Foothills Composite High School will be holding a special family and basketball event Friday night for all to enjoy.

The Falcons Boys and Girls Varsity teams will be hosting the Harlem Crowns for a night of comedy and a showcase of numerous basketball tricks on display.

Falcons Boys Jr Varsity Coach Jeromy Hall says it's a close knit event that everyone can get behind whether you're big into basketball or not.

"This is a great community thing, it's a nice way for the young basketball players in the community come out and one see their grade 12 athletes participate in a game and at the same time it's an entertaining show that they don't need to drive to Calgary for, it's right at our home barn and it's a great family fun affair," he says.

Hall says the game against the Crowns is a great feather in the cap for senior players right before they start their playoff runs.

"They're very similar to the Harlem Globetrotters and they're going to play our varsity girls and our varsity boys grade 12 players so that the graduating players have a chance to experience playing them in a day."

Hall says there will be possible opportunity to rub elbows with some of the members of the Crowns.

"In previous encounters they've been able to get some autographs from some of the players so if a little kids see some guy going up for a big dunk and think that's pretty cool there's a chance for type of interaction with the Crowns."

Tickets are available at the Comp's main office for $9 or you can get them at the door for $10.

Tip off for the Falcon/Crowns game is 7 p.m.
