Sunday marked the start of Environment week in the Town of Okotoks.

The week allows the Town to educate the public on how to celebrate and conserve nature.

Conservation Educator Logan Bennett says it's a busy week full of activities.

"All week there are events and presentations that we do throughout the town to promote the environment and sustainability in general."

Bennett adds a lot of the presentations and events are geared towards families and kids because it's important they start thinking about these efforts at a young age.

The Town would like as many people in the community as possible to be aware of the environment because it makes the Town's incentives more powerful.

According to Bennett learning and having fun is not the only reason to go to the events this year.

"The passport is something new we are doing this year as an incentive for people to come to the events."

If you attend three of the eight events you will be entered in a draw to win a $100 Home Depot gift card and a new drill.
