Okotoks community residents did very well in terms of safety and activities this past Halloween according to Municipal Enforcement.

Kelly Stienwand, Municipal Enforcement Manager for the Town of Okotoks, says community first responders made their presence well-known this year.

"We had a great Halloween. It was well attended by a lot of our emergency personnel in town. We had Fire, Ambulance, RCMP and our Municipal Enforcement officers out and very visible," he said.

Stienwand says aside from a few minor incidents, it was a very enjoyable evening for first responders.

"We had a couple of small incidents that were pretty typical to have on that kind of an evening. In general, it was very safe. People were driving safely, parents were walking with their kids, it was a really great night," he said.

Stienwand adds Halloween is one of the most favourites for Municipal Enforcement, Police, Fire and Ambulance, as they get to be out and connect with community members and their children.

"Our officers, they really enjoy interacting with the public. Weather was good, so everything worked out really well," said Stienwand.

He adds that aside from a few minor incidents and some pumpkin rolling down Veterans Way, they were very pleased with the community's participation and safety measures on Halloween.
