Albertans will be used to the sight of election signs scattered along roadways and in front of houses.

With the election having passed, it's time for residents, business owners, and candidates to clean up.

According to the Government of Alberta, election signs must be removed from public property within three days of an election (8pm today), and from private property within seven days.

This includes tie wiring and any sign supports.

Campaign offices are responsible for sign removal, though residents are encouraged to remove signs on their property to be picked up at a later date, or to be dropped off at a location specified by the candidate.

Failure to remove signs will result in the respective campaign office being contacted by Municipal Enforcement, and may ultimately result in a fine of 250 dollars.
