The Diamond Valley Chamber of Commerce is looking to grow its team.

The group, which serves Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Longview, and Millarville, wants to add to its executive to help serve the 91 licensed businesses and 43 members they cater to.

Kathleen Henderson, stand-in president for the chamber, says they're planning on making connections with potential members in person.

"I think it's always better to do a walkabout face to face with businesses rather than email so we're going to try and get people more interested by going around to the businesses and telling them what we're all about and what they can achieve and how good it would be to join."

The chamber offers insurance for business owners who have staff and hold meetings once a month to see what businesses are up to and how they can improve.

Henderson says one role in particular they're hoping to fill is treasurer.

"You just keep track of what comes in and what goes out," she says. "If someone joins and they write a cheque it's up to the treasurer to take it in and deposit it in the bank, make a note of it, and that's about it."
