Unsure of what to do for Valentines Day yet?

Beat the crowds and have a good time for a good cause with the Alberta Dance Academy, as they host a Winter Hootenanny Fundraiser.

Alberta Dance Academy's Studio Manager, Tasha Shukys says the studio is trying to raise money to send their competitive company of 67 dancers off to compete around Alberta.

"The Winter Hootenanny is a fundraiser that we're doing next weekend on Feb. 11th at Rylies Cattlebarn, for our company dancers." Shukys adds "All of our company dancers participate in a production. This year 67 dancers will be in one number, and that number will be taken from competition to competition."

Funds raised will go to helping families pay for costumes, props, travel expenses and of course rehearsal time.

Tickets include a steak dinner and a complimentary sangria as well as a 90's cover band. Shukys says this will be a parent's or adult only night with a silent auction as well.

"To raise these funds we are going to have a parent's night out. We will have great silent auction items, raffle tickets, and great prizes." Shukys says they're giving back to the community as well. "Most of our auction items, are all from local companies and business's within town, so that's really great too!"

Tickets are $45 and can only be purchased at the Alberta Dance Academy which is located on 4 Crystalridge Dr. in Okotoks.

The Parent's Association and Tasha Shukys say you don't need to be a dance parent to come and enjoy the good times, as everyone is invited.

"We would love for people in the community to come and join, it's not just intended for dance parents. If anybody wants to attend we would be more then happy to have you join us." Shukys says "The more the merrier, it's going to be a great night."

Tickets will only be on sale until Mon. Feb 6th.
