Get your "bend and snap" ready as Strathcona-Tweedsmuir opens up their annual theatre project tomorrow with Legally Blonde - The Musical.

Zasha Rabie S.T.S student plays the lead role as Elle Woods, says she's incredibly excited for the opening night.

"I am ecstatic beyond belief!" Rabie says "It's so exciting to see everything we've worked so hard on since September all coming together into this wonderful production that everyone will now get a chance to see."

Daniel Hall, S.T.S. Director of Performance and Fine Arts was also the director of the musical and says it's a tale of self-discovery and confidence.

"As Shakespeare said, and one of the quotes in the play 'To thine own self, be true' and that's what Elle finds out." Hall says "She really has to be herself and that she can't depend on somebody else to give her happiness. So it's really a great message."

The production comes along with dance, choral, and catchy musical pieces and also will include a pit band. Any student was welcome to audition and was included in the performance so it will showcase everyone's specific talents whether back stage, the pit band or acting up front.

Hall says their teamwork will really shine through along with cast's hard work.

"We work together as an ensemble, and I'm very much in the belief of the non-star system; that we are there to support each other and we work together as an ensemble, as a group and each person is important to the overall effect of the show. They've worked incredibly hard."

Legally Blonde - The Musical runs Nov. 30, through to Dec. 3 and tickets and show times can be found by clicking here to go to the Strathcona-Tweedsmuir website
