Okotoks is working hard to set itself apart from other towns.

After over 800 residents weighed in on a survey about Okotoks, an action plan that could shape the Town's future is on its way.

Shane Olson, manager of economic development, says developing the framework has been a thorough process.

"Over the past six months local residents and visitors have weighed in on Okotoks' future and on January 15 Roger Brooks will be back in town to present a public presentation on the brand direction, so it's specific to the direction of what we want to be known for, what the ideas are that have come in," he says.

Olson says the follow-up to Brooks' kick-off session that was held in September won't showcase the final product, but will focus on what the findings were from the submitted surveys.

A group of individuals was selected to help with the review process.

"The Okotoks economic development team is a part of the process in reviewing the surveys with the committee we have in place," Olson says. "We have a branding sub-committee that's reviewing all of the feedback."

The event, Okotoks' Future is About to Unfold, Presented by Roger Brooks, takes place on Jan. 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Rotary Performing Arts Centre.

Guests are encouraged to register for the event ahead of time as seating is limited.
