A tragic incident in Black Diamond on Thursday night involving a pair of motorcyclists from Okotoks.

Just after 9 o'clock, Turner Valley RCMP attended a call where two motorcyclists had been heading eastbound on Highway 543, east of 128th Street.

Early investigation with a collision analyst has determined the motorcyclists were attempting to pass vehicles when they both struck a truck pulling a flat deck trailer.

The 48-year-old woman and 57-year-old man both died as a result of their injuries from the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
