As cooler more 'Autumn' like temperatures roll in through the Foothills, it might signal an end to summer, but most definitely not an end to road construction, as two new projects start up today.

The Town has contracted LCBO Construction out of Calgary to upgrade the underground infrastructure in two locations.

Senior Engineer for the Town Jeremy Huet says the upgrades are needed for future growth in the Town.

"Both projects will increase waste water capacity for the northwest and northeast areas of Okotoks in preparation for future development and to ensure current residents continue to have sufficient capacity to meet their needs."

The first project will close down the section of Riverside Dr. between Northridge and Riverside Way behind First Calgary Financial and Pho Hoai.

Crews will ensure detour signs are in place, while the second project affects motorists using North Railway St. near the Okotoks Cinemas.

A section of North Railway between Fisher Gate and Stockton Ave will be narrowed down to one lane.

This project is expected to last less then a week, but flaggers and construction crews will remain on site directing traffic.

Traffic will be slowed in the area, and the Town is asking motorists to use caution and obey all construction signs and personnel in the area.
