A collaborative investigation involving the okotoks RCMP, Southern Alberta Auto Theft Unit and Crime Reduction Team and Calgary Police Auto Theft Unit has resulted in the recovery of a significant amount of stolen property.

On April 29th, officers attended a rural property in the area of 80th street east. A warrant for the search of the property produced 3 bobcats, 2 trucks, 1 car, one boat and 2 trailers. 3 of the vin numbers were found to have been altered and a prohibited firearm was also recovered.

Sixty-two- year- old Kenneth Stieben of the MD of Foothills is charged with 9 counts of possession of stolen property, 3 counts of altering a vin and possession of a prohibited firearm

Steiben was held for an interim hearing and was later released on his own recognizance. He is to appear in Okotoks Provinical Court on June 1st.
