Celebrating two years in Okotoks, while giving back to a great cause.

COBS Bread held their anniversary barbeque Sunday afternoon showing appreciation to its customers, but also hoping to help a charity that means a lot to them.

The barbeque raised $2500 for the Foothills Country Hospice Society and COBS owner Lee Hodgins says helping the hospice just feels right.

"It's close to our heart," he says. "We've lost some family members and it's well known in the community, it does a great service to the community and that's why it's a great cause to support."

Hodgins says the fundraiser was a complete success.

"Busy barbecue, lots of people trying the birthday scones," he says. "The support for the Foothills Country Hospice is great. A lot people donating this year without even taking a hotdog with them. It's been a good day for us."

With two years under his belt with the bread franchise in Okotoks, Hodgins and his family have opened another store in Shawnessy.

He says it's been quite the ride so far, but doesn't forget about giving back to the community.

"It's been an amazing two years," he says. "We're looking forward for the next two and beyond, because the support for us has been great, and we love giving back to the community anyway we can, so it's worth being here.
