After their annual fundraiser Cobs Bread has once again donated their proceeds to the Foothills Country Hospice Society.

Every year Cobs Bread has a BBQ and fundraiser, giving all funds to their choice of charity, choosing the local hospice for the fourth year in a row.

Cobs Bread Okotoks owner Lee Hodgins says the bakery considers themselves lucky to be able to give back.

"This year we raised another $1,500 and over the last four years I would estimate approximately $8,000. So we are very lucky to be able to do that with the support of the people coming into our store."

Kelly Hodgins, co-owner of Cobs Bread, says it's important to support a local charity.

"The community supports us and our business and we feel it's very important to give back to the community and since day one the hospice was our charity of choice."

Dawn Elliott, executive director of the hospice, received the cheque on behalf of the group and says they can't thank Cobs Bread enough.

"What can I say, we are very grateful, as Kelly was saying we are their charity of choice, this is the fourth year we have received a donation from Cobs and words can't thank them enough."

The hospice will be putting the funds towards looking after their patients as there is no charge for their patients stay in and meals when they are with the local organization.

Cobs Bread has their annual fundraiser on the closest Saturday to Aug. 2 every year.
