The Town of Vulcan has a New Tourism Administrator.

Shannon Clarke who's been there for four years as the Assistant Administrator takes over the job after Devan Daniels left the job last summer.

She's already deep into planning this summer's "Vul-Con" and says they have a couple of new events on the go this year.

"We're doing a costume parade on the Saturday morning of "Vul-Con" we'll have a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Star Ship in Town. And we've got some amazing guests lined up, that I hope to announce very soon!"

She says they may even do a ceremony during the event changing one of the street names.

She says a group of "Star Trek" fans called "KAG Kanada" or "Klingon Assault Group Kanada" has petitioned the Town of Vulcan to rename the service road, behind the Vulcan Tourism and Trek Station as, "Klingon Way."

She's also changed the days of the event this year, moving it to after the Calgary Stampede and having it run, Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, February 1.
