It was the final curtain for yet another successful production put on by the Dewdney Players as Cinderella comes away with rave reviews from all in attendance for their shows.

The show was surrounded by the British Pantomime where some roles of men were played by women and the women include the evil step sisters were played by men.

Director for Cinderella Nicola Payton says all in all Cinderella was well received.

"It's the 2nd most successful Dewdeny play after Calendar Girls which obviously with the success it would be hard to beat that," she says. "But we were really pleased with how well Cinderella went down."

With 17 local performers in the cast of Cinderella, Payton says the show really had the element of local talent.

"Pretty much all of them had been through the Alberta High School of Fine Arts Musical Theatre and it was fabulous they were so talented and the singing voices and acting it was a pleasure to work with them."

Payton says she hopes the strong string of shows continues with the next Dewdney Players production.

The next show is 39 Steps, it is the play of the film sort of it's very comedic, Tracy Wyman is directing it and all the information will be on the Dewdney Players website and Facebook page."
