A recent food recall could have you looking through your freezer.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Saffina Foods Inc. have recalled nationally sold No Name brand frozen chicken burgers, and Compliments brand chicken strips and chicken nuggets.

The recall comes after concerns of Salmonella contamination.

Foods contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can cause headaches, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and can even lead to fatal infections.

According to the CFIA young children, pregnant woman, elderly citizens and people with weak immune systems can get serious and sometimes fatal infections if they come in contact with the bacteria. Long term complications are possible and could potentially lead to severe arthritis.

The CFIA has reported an undisclosed amount of illnesses related to the recalled products.

If these products are found in your home the CFIA says they should be returned to the place they were purchased or thrown out.

Compliments brand Chicken Nuggets and Chicken Strips have also been recalled like the No Name Chicken Burgers due to Salmonella concerns.
