Sunday the parking lot at the Okotoks Centennial Centre was packed with music, hockey, and community spirit.

The Winter Carnival was a chance for residents to come together and show their love of hockey and support for Okotoks Kraft Hockeyville nomination.

Richard Robert, MC for the event, says it was nice to see the town's support.

"It's great to see this many people come out and with the weather that we've had it just brings the community together and that's what it's all about is having everybody come together and see what we can do with this."

The Winter Carnival had live music, hot chocolate, food, games, and prizes.

Robert says hopefully residents will see another Hockeyville event in the near future.

"Next weekend they're also talking about having a community road hockey tournament where one community plays against the rest so hopefully we can put that together in the next week or so and get this going and keep it going for the town."

Residents are encouraged to share their photos from the event on social media using the hashtag #KHV_PasonCentArena.
