The Sheep River Health Trust is keeping busy this holiday season.

Between the Avenue of Trees and Photos with Santa they're ready to give back to charities in the Foothills.

Local businesses and organizations have decorated 41 trees which will be auctioned off with proceeds going back into health trust. A majority of the trees can be viewed at the Okotoks Recreation Centre with 39 of them lining the halls, and the other two can be found at Oilfields Hospital and Okotoks Urgent Care.

Tanya Thorn, Sheep River Health Trust representative, says the silent auction for the trees is underway.

"The bid sheets are on the trees up at Rec. Centre right now so you can place a bid... I encourage people to remember the value of an artificial tree undecorated is somewhere between about $150- $300."

The live auction for 10 of the trees will be combined with the Mistletoe Market on Dec. 12 at 1 o'clock.

The health trust is also offering residents the convenient option of getting their pictures taken with Santa without the hassle of heading into city.

"You can book online at the sheepriverhealthtrust.ca and there's a booking link there and it allows you took book a time so that means you can show up at that time," she says. "You don't have to come to the mall, be there three hours early and sign up your name then wander through the mall with your kids. You can book your time and just come."

Thorn says the cost for Photos With Santa is $50 which includes time with Santa and a USB with all of the photos taken. Proceeds will go back into Foothills organizations.
