Canada will celebrate its 150th Birthday this weekend, and there is plenty going on in the area to check out, from fireworks, live music, and baseball.

Here is a listing of Canada Day events in Okotoks and various locations in the M.D. of Foothills.

Friday, June 30.

Okotoks:

Concert at the Plaza starting at 7:05 p.m. with juggler Carter Randall, followed by solo guitarist Brettyn Rose at 7:30 p.m, closing with Onewest- Southern Alberta's Country Band at 8:15 p.m.

Downtown shops will also be open late, hosting a variety of activities for all ages


Saturday, July 1.

Okotoks:

The Okotoks Recreation Centre will offer a free public swim at 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Children's Decorated Bicycle Parade at 11:00 a.m.

Ethnic food sampling from around the world at 12:15 p.m. at Wylie Park.

Multi-cultural performances, games, face painting & crafts 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Wylie Park.

Canada cake cutting 2:00 p.m. at Wylie Park.

Okotoks Dawgs vs. Swift Current 57's at 7:05 p.m. at Seaman Stadium.

Fireworks following end of the Dawgs game.


High River:

Servus Credit Union High River Half Marathon begins 7:00 a.m. at George Lane Park.

Canada Day Celebrations at 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at George Lane Park.

Fireworks at Emerson Lake around 10:30 p.m.

Millarville:

112th Running of the Millarville Races at the track. Races begin at 12:00 p.m., gates open at 10:00 a.m.


Black Diamond/ Turner Valley:

Diamond Music Fest from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Erma Joy Brown Park.


Sunday, July 2.

Okotoks:

Walk with the Mayor at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Ethel Tucker Park.

BBQ and Old fashioned games from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Ethel Tucker Park.


Black Diamond/ Turner Valley

Continuation of Diamond Music Fest from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Erma Joy Brown Park.
