The McBride Career Group 7th Annual Career & Employment Expo was busy Thursday with a number of worthy applicants and those looking for a new opportunities coming through the doors of the Centennial Centre.

It the recent turn in the Alberta economy Regional Manger Amber Chapman says there definitely an influx of patrons from a year ago.

"It's certainly notable, we're happy people are coming getting face to face with employers and perhaps getting that opportunity," she says. "Within an hour we almost had 300 people."

Chapman says they saw little bit of everything with 15 employer booths ready to hire.

"People are checking out some of the seasonal positions, we did have the RCMP and Navy here so people were talking to them about potential careers in the future but also some post secondary schools were here, SAIT, University of Lethbridge and Bow Valley College talking post secondary education plans."

The career expo brought a lot of different types of people looking for employment in numerous fields.

"I think we're getting some different people but we're always going to have those that are just curious Who's hiring? What kind of positions are available out there? People maybe happy in their current job already but maybe I'm looking for something a little bit different so we do have people I think that are employed already that may be looking for a change and then those of course who are seeking employment."
