The Okotoks Polo Clubs Academy has been open since late April for the public to come out and try the sport, but starting in the beginning of July the season will be in full swing.

The Sunday polo games will be hitting the field with professional players on the teams.

Director of the Academy and professional Polo play Kyle Fargey says that there is a couple of different ways to come out and enjoy the sport.

"You can come and do some tail gating on a Sunday than experience one of our two o'clock games with a picnic."

To come and watch one of the Sunday matches is free.

If the sport really peaks your interest and you want to try it than that is always an option as well.

"We provide all the gear the horse and the tack, all you have to do is show up and give it a go," Fargey says.

Fargey adds that the club has been in the area since the 1890's but there are still quite a few people that don't know about it.

Acknowledging that is has been a slow start to getting people's awareness but hoping that things will change in the future.

"We are hoping that this summer we will see a bunch of new faces come out and experience it."
